Wedding for Two started as a blog about a feminist couple planning an egalitarian Baltimore wedding. We began the blog with the idea that we would write together about this process, and hopefully help other Baltimore brides and grooms in their planning process. We have found that honesty is the best policy in writing this blog, and hope that our openness about the planning process is helpful to you.
A little more about us:
Ellie has lived in Maryland her entire life and she is a public interest lawyer in Baltimore. In addition to this blog, she also writes at Barefoot and in the Kitchen. Mark was born in England and raised in New Jersey, but moved to Maryland for college and stayed after earning his master's in Mechanical Engineering. He now works for a Baltimore firm where he designs roller coasters.
We got married last October at Irvine Nature Center in Owings Mills. This blog is a chronicle of our attempt to craft the wedding we wanted, while respecting our families, our traditions, and each other. We did the best we could, and at the end of the day, we got married in a way that felt personal and meaningful to us.
We both love life in Baltimore and are constantly making an effort to better know our community here and do all those respectable yuppie things like eat local foods and support small businesses in the city.
